Quick overview of my problems with Yellow Book.




My Complaint Summary:

1. They put WRONG telephone numbers for my business ad (listing).

2. For the money I put into the YB ad - I had very few leads ... VERY FEW, like 3.

3. Never made 1 sale from using a YB ad.

4. Their Customer Service is horrible. They were very rude and aggressive towards me to say the least.

5. The prices they charge are border line illegal "price gouging."

I'm a small business owner. I would NEVER treat a customer the way I have treated by YELLOW BOOK. If I make a mistake, I quickly correct it. No "IFs ANDs or BUTs" about it. The problem is these companies are SO BIG, they know they are BIG and they know that there is really nothing the little guy can do to correct a problem. Basically, they don't care if you ever return. They have thousands of other customers and they know they have you locked into a contract. AND to make things worse the contract MAY EVEN automatically renew! "Fat chance" cancelling that type of contract.

BUT - I am preaching to the choir - right? Well, that's why I have started this block to voice my DIS-APPROVAL and COMPLAINTS against YELLOW BOOK.

  1. I don't really have a beef with the Yellow (add name) marketing bussiness. They do what they do, and I WILL NOT join the foolishness of the "must have" advertising.
    I have all the work we can handle by grassroots type of advertising.
    I read a few books by Gorilla Marketing. It is low or no cost ads THAT WORK.
    It's advertising that is out of the ordinary and people will call.
    So I feel so much better knowing I can get work AND stay busy without "THEM"
    Gorilla Marketing also has a free web page with daily tips.
    Give It a try.
    Also direct mail is very very good if done the right way.
